MCM BROKE GROUND AT THE LIGHTHOUSE FOR THE BLIND PROJECT!

August 3rd, 2016 - MCM broke ground on a new addition to the Lighthouse for the Blind growing campus. The new 72,000-square-foot Lighthouse Learning Center for Children™ addition will house innovative intervention programs for youngsters from birth through four years old, providing the community with a first-of-its-kind pre-kindergarten program. Blind and visually impaired children from communities throughout Miami-Dade will attend alongside sighted classmates from the surrounding Brickell neighborhood. Miami Lighthouse is introducing this unique initiative, in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools and the Early Learning Coalition, to more easily transition blind and visually impaired students to our public schools.

This project consists of the demolition of a 1 story building and the construction of a new 4 story building. The new building will consist of a parking garage on levels 1-3 and offices and classrooms on level 4. The new building will tie in to an exisitng structure on the property at (2) locations.
